PHOTOGRAPHIC MEDIUM
« In my works, I increasingly play with the image that I handle and create while trying to use the ambiguity of the real in order to create new worlds.
These ambignous worlds may look dreamlike, fantastic sometimes surrealistic or totally abstract.
Between the real and the deconstruction of the real, those "Revisited architectures", "Plastic Nature", and other "Mutant Landscapes" question the imagination of the viewer.
For about fifteen years, several techniques have been recurrently used for those plastic images:
The work above is the result of montage which, although not directly connected to "the Jordi Form" (like in "plastic photographs 1), is however an echo of "the Form", as far as these photographs present a mostly vertical axial symmetry, and "the Form" itself also refers to axial symmertry.
This is why these images are presented on this site because, in a way, they are part of the global transversal concept: a single "Form" for several mediums.
There are several series based on the same approach, but only the most representative are presented here, such as for instance:
"Plastic Nature" (supported by Agnès b. Paris), and other "Mutant Landscapes", or "Fantastic Vegetal", but also series including a great number of images, such as "Revisited Achitectures" and "Cranes".
(see: Art critic Bernard Teulon-Nouailles' text "The double image according to Jordi" - 2009) .
This bias towards plastician photography and here towards the symmetrical (or sometimes asymmetrical) "Double image" now appears most of the time in Jordi's exhibitions.
Besides, there is a different version of this "Double image" concept (without any reference to symmetry), in the "Duos" series of images presented in diptych form in order to make sense in view of the chosen theme (like, for instance: the "Venice" and "Japan" series.
- ARCHITECTURE… Images of mainly contemporary architecture, particularly in the "Revisited Architectures" series.
- NATURE and environmental protection (vegetals, minerals, animals), sustainable development, the elements and their energy, and LANDSCAPE images, often "Mutant Landscapes".
- CRANES and the will to build..
- Midi SALTWORKS .
